The art of modern storytelling: SARA DOUEDARI speaks a digital content creator in Cyprus about creating a narrative

In today’s digital age, where social media platforms have turned everyone into a potential content creator, the infinite volume of content available is overwhelming. However, not all content captures our attention or engages us in meaningful ways. This disparity highlights the growing importance of digital creators who excel in crafting content that stands out. It’s not just about posting something; it’s about posting something that makes people stop scrolling and pay attention.

Digital creators are not just people who post on social media; they are skilled professionals who understand how to tell stories that resonate with their audience. Anastasia Olson, a digital content creator in Cyprus, embodies this blend of creativity and strategic thinking. Anastasia, born and raised in Cyprus with roots originally from Russia, describes content creation as her art.

“I’ve always loved being public, I have been active on any online platform that existed since the internet became accessible for everyone. I love capturing life as it’s so precious but mostly I love going that extra mile to create amazing content for myself and for others,” she explains. “As dramatic as it sounds, content creation is my life, this is how I make a living, this is how I stay inspired and this is how I met the most amazing people and got great opportunities.”

Digital creators combine creativity with strategic thinking to produce content that is not only interesting but also effective in conveying a message or promoting a product. As the digital landscape becomes increasingly saturated, the role of these creators is becoming more crucial. Consider the challenge of making an impact online when thousands of posts are uploaded every minute.

“I left my corporate job last year, and since then I’m following my content creator freelancer dream life,” says Anastasia. The job of a content creator comes with a certain lifestyle. “I’ve been dreaming about working for myself and doing content for a very long time so now I really enjoy the life I’ve created for myself. I have very long mornings where I allow myself to get that extra hour of sleep, then I do some morning rituals such as healthy breakfast, stretching, meditating. Then after waking up completely my actual day starts and every day is so different.”

Some days I can work on a movie set, assist in magazine shoots with celebrities or create events – and some days I spend most of the time brainstorming ideas and creating a mood board for a party. The life I live right now really matches my personality, the fact that I do so many different and cool things every day really fulfills my chaotic soul.”

Anastasia understands her audience and knows how to connect with them on a deeper level. It is this connection that makes her content so effective. It’s not just about selling a product or promoting a brand; it’s about creating a narrative that people can relate to and feel a part of.

“Content creation is the strongest marketing tool these days, and Cyprus has caught up on that quite well in the last few years. We live in an era where your Instagram page is a business card. The past few years we had an increase of new businesses and international people moving to the island which brought the tendency of taking content creation seriously.”

In Cyprus, the rise of digital creators like Anastasia is transforming the way brands and businesses approach online marketing. With a growing number of people consuming content online, the demand for high-quality, engaging content is higher than ever. “Now you can promote your business just using your phone camera and your Instagram page and honestly, that’s sometimes all you need,” she says. “Content creation is about showing not only the product but also the feeling you get. For example, a bikini store will not only post bikini photos but also some reels of a model running to the ocean or drinking a coconut to make the customer want to seek that experience that the brand brings with the product.”

But being a good digital creator requires more than just technical skills. It requires an understanding of what makes content truly engaging. Storytelling is at the heart of this, as it allows creators to convey messages in a way that is compelling and memorable. Authenticity is also key, as audiences are becoming more discerning and can easily spot content that feels insincere or contrived.

With each passing day, the digital landscape becomes more diverse and crowded, and the challenge of capturing and holding the audience’s attention intensifies. The rise of digital creators remains a response to the evolving demands of the online world. Anastasia’s journey and insights into the world of digital content creation in Cyprus leads by example, highlighting the impact of creators in shaping the digital narratives that define our time.
