Coronavirus: Hellenic Bank reducing staff on premises, urges use of digital platforms

Hellenic Bank said on Sunday it was ready to implement the latest Covid decree and was reducing the number of staff who would be working at its branches.

The bank is urging customers to visit their bank branch only when absolutely necessary and to fully use its digital platforms for their banking needs, and to utilise ATMs for cash withdrawals and deposits.

There will be experienced staff available to help customers do this, giving priority to retirees and vulnerable groups so they can learn how to use the ATMs, which also allow people to make transactions between their accounts, or to deposit cheques.

Customers who do not have a debit card linked to their accounts will have to get them, the bank said. It will be offered free of charge after completing the relevant paperwork.

Those with online banking have all the services available to them through their accounts, the bank said.
