Roads leading to Troodos were closed on Sunday for around two-and-a-half hours due to snow.

Police had announced at around 1 pm that the roads from Prodromos to Troodos, Karvounas to Troodos and Platres to Troodos were closed to traffic due to snow. The roads were given back to traffic at around 3.30 pm.

Drivers are advised to be especially careful, to have their headlights on, to drive at low speeds and to keep their distance from the vehicles ahead of them, police said.

Earlier in the day, police said there was dense fog in the greater Troodos area while visibility was very limited.
