Yellow weather warning issued for Monday night

The met office issued a yellow weather warning on Monday in place from 6pm until 5am on Tuesday.

Storms and rain are forecast to affect the entire island with rainfall reaching 50mm in some places. Showers could last for up to six hours, according to the warning.

The met office has urged people to take extra precautions in forest and mountainous areas. Outdoor activities might also be disrupted by the severe weather, the announcement added.
