A car worth €40,000 was destroyed by a fire believed to have been set maliciously in Paralimni early on Thursday.

The vehicle was under a covered parking next to the owner’s house when the fire broke out at around 1.30am.

The fire destroyed the vehicle belonging to the 44-year-old man and also damaged the house.

First investigations indicate the cause was arson.
