At around noon on Monday, police and the customs department searched premises in the Larnaca district where they found 44 boxes of cigarettes, 3,5 kilos of tobacco and 1,250 grammes of hookah tobacco.
The products carried no official health warning, indicating they had been imported illegally.
The owner of the premises was fined €8,000 which he reportedly paid.
