Traffic police arrested two drivers speeding on the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway on Sunday evening.

One of them, a 21-year-old man, was stopped near Kosi shortly before 8pm as he was driving 196km/h instead of the permitted 100km/h.

A little later, another man, 52, was stopped near Lympia on the same road because he was travelling at 185km/h.

According to the police report, the driver initially failed to stop, “driving recklessly and dangerously, while he also turned off his head lights.”

Both men were arrested, charged and released pending their appearance in court.
