Larnaca police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the theft of jewellery from a shop which happened earlier this month.

According to a jeweller in the Larnaca district, thieves broke into his shop between 8pm on March 2 and 7am the following day and took various items worth €6,110.

As part of the investigation into the case, officers stopped and searched a car in the Limassol district at noon on Wednesday in which three persons, aged 44,36 and 35, were travelling.

In the vehicle they found a bag containing jewellery and a hood.

All three were arrested as they did not explain how they obtained the items.

The objects appear to be some of the ones stolen from the jeweller’s in Larnaca, police said.
