‘Borat’ star Maria Bakalova describes challenge of swapping drama for satire

In this video, Maria Bakalova, the breakout star of ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’, gives us an insider’s view of how difficult it was to shed her prior experiences of dramatic roles to embrace the irreverence of satire.

The Bulgarian actress has racked up many nominations for her ‘Borat’ role this season, competing in the race for the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards, SAG Awards and the Academy Awards.

On March 7, Bakalova won her first Critics’ Choice Award in the Best Supporting Actress category.
