Man arrested for driving nearly double the speed limit

Police late on Thursday arrested a man for travelling at 190km/h on the Nicosia – Limassol motorway.

The 25-year-old driver was stopped near Nisou by traffic police at 11.15pm.

He was arrested for speeding and driving without being insured while both he and his 20-year-old co-driver were also booked for violating the overnight curfew.

The driver was later released pending his appearance in court on Friday.
