Coronavirus: Vaccination portal for 64-67 reopens on Sunday

The vaccinations portal will reopen on Sunday for people between 64 and 67, the health ministry said, while also announcing that they are picking up the pace with the aim of scheduling appointments for people aged 40 and over by the beginning of May.

The ministry on Saturday said that by Friday, 207,547 vaccinations had been carried out with 150,078 people receiving the first dose and the rest having received their second dose.

It said that on Sunday, the vaccinations portal will open again between 7.30 am and 8pm for people aged between 64 and 67 who have not had the opportunity to book an appointment earlier on. In total 16,900 appointments are available for this group.

On Monday, the portal will be open for the 51-52 age group. Appointments may be booked between 7.30am Monday and 8pm Tuesday.

People between 49 and 50 will be able to book vaccination appointments between 7.30am on Wednesday and 8pm Thursday.

From 7.30am on Friday until 8pm Saturday the 47-48 age group will be able to book appointments.

The number of available appointments for these groups will be announced next week, the ministry said.

It added that it is picking up pace so that by the beginning of May, people aged 40 and over will be able to book their vaccination appointments.

It also said that so far, 11,019 people in the vulnerable groups have been administered the first dose as well as 780 bed-ridden patients who were vaccinated in their residences.
