Coronavirus: More than 5,000 checks, 25 booked

Police booked 25 individuals, including two business owners, for violations of coronavirus measures from 6am on Tuesday until 6am on Wednesday.

The owner of a beauty salon was fined €500 for allowing too many customers on the premises and another beauty salon was booked because an employee was not wearing a mask.

In total, 5,101 checks were carried out, 1,704 in Nicosia, 298 in Limassol, 597 in Paphos, 753 in Larnaca, 513 in Famagusta and 738 in Morphou.

Traffic police conducted 427 inspections and marine police 71.
