A public consultation is underway on a bill to regulate camping sites including those offering high-end facilities known as glamping.

The Deputy Ministry of Tourism said on Wednesday the bill is set to introduce new provisions modernising the exiting regulatory framework in Cyprus, including provisions which would regulate the operation of luxury camping sites.

“Glamping is a new international trend in tourism, which has been growing rapidly around the world and offers a luxury stay in the countryside,” the ministry said in a press release.

Interested parties can access the draft bill from www.tourism.gov.cy and submit their views and observations until July 31, 2021.
