While so many are set to flock to the beach this long weekend, nature lovers and art fans have an opportunity to seek calmness and creativity with an outdoor art workshop in the mountains. On Sunday, the Troodos Art Club is hosting a drawing workshop to capture the beauty of the nature of the mountains. Though the session is almost sold-out it is the first of many free art events to come from the art club, with more planned for the autumn when the temperature begins to cool.

Held in Phini village, two sessions will take place; one between 10am and 12pm and another between 4pm and 6pm. Totally immersed in nature and raw, the participants will take a walk in the mountains where they will pause to be inspired by the surroundings and draw the wildlife. “What better way to experience the natural beauty of our island!” says Troodos Art Club. “Experience the mood-enhancing benefits of art and nature in great company – get creative in the fresh air of the mountains. The fun, the laid-back workshop is suitable for all levels, beginners and advanced alike. Join us even if you’ve never drawn a single line in your life, but would like to give it a go.”

As the day will be spent fully outdoors, art lovers participating in the workshop are advised to wear comfortable and cool clothes and suitable shoes. All materials will be provided by the organisers, all participants have to do is make their way there and reserve a spot in advance for a day capturing the seasons of the mountains.
