Leading information and communication technology companies are joining forces with other businesses to help those affected by the catastrophic fires last weekend by donating €900 thousand.

According to an industry announcement by Techisland, the supporting companies include:

  • Easybrain
    ● Ecommbx
    ● Ecommpay
    ● FunCorp
    ● Exness
    ● Nexters
    ● Palta
    ● Servers.com
    ● TheSoul Publishing
    ● WiseBits
    ● BrainRocket
    ● AITarget
    ● Victor Shaburov (entrepreneur)

The contribution, totalling €900 thousand will go to the affected families and to restoring the natural environment and its reforestation.

Uri Poliavich, CEO of Brain Rocket, said: “As part of our responsibility to be good corporate citizens of Cyprus, we also have the opportunity to feel a part of something greater than our company. Therefore, we must support our community, as we feel a deep sense of responsibility to serve it during these difficult times. BrainRocket is entirely committed to making a lasting impact in the place we call home.”

On behalf of all the supporting tech companies, the co-founder of Palta and Servers.com, Alexey Gubarev, stated that his father had been head of the fire department in Siberia.

“I really know how horrific fire can be. Cyprus is still counting its wounds after this deadly and catastrophic fire,” he said.

“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims who lost their lives and everyone who were affected by the wildfire.”

He described the contributions from the business world and the community to the victims of the fire as exceptionally touching.

“From our side, we could only enhance this effort. After all, Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of the culture and values of the industry companies, let alone in these challenging moments that we have to face.”

According to the joint announcement of the tech sector enterprises, a representative from the Techisland non-profit organisation will contact the relevant government agencies and non-profit organisations to determine the procedures and the manner of allocating the total amount.
