Coronavirus: 849 cases on Sunday (Updated)

In total 849 coronavirus cases were announced on Sunday out of 63,665 PCR and rapid tests with a positivity rate of 1.33 per cent.

No deaths were announced.

There are 139 patients with Covid-19 in state hospitals, 34 of whom in serious condition, 13 intubated.

Five of the new cases were detected during testing among passengers at the Larnaca and Paphos airports.

In total 63 cases were people who got PCR tests and another 28, people who got rapid tests, privately. Fourteen cases were among samples processed in state hospitals’ labs, and three are people who were referred for testing by their physicians.

Another 736 cases were detected among the 57,316 samples processed during rapid testing in all districts on behalf of the health ministry.

Three cases, one each, were detected in a nursing home in Limassol, in a migrant reception facility and during rapid testing at the airports. In addition, 232 cases were detected in the Limassol district (1.66 per cent), 213 in Nicosia (1.04 per cent), 116 in Larnaca (1.43 per cent), 79 in the Famagusta district (1.54 per cent) and 93 in Paphos (1.13 per cent).

So far, 84,272 cases and 380 deaths from Covid-19 were recorded.
