The volunteer-powered app bringing ‘sight’ to blind people

Technology has its pros and cons, but one Danish man wanted to harness its power to help others.

Today, Hans Jørgen Wiberg‘s mobile phone app, ‘Be My Eyes’, is helping to give blind or sight-impaired people the ability to ‘see’ their world a little better, by instantly connecting them with volunteers from around the world.

As we learn in this video, the app is a life-changer for blind and low-vision people, with worldwide volunteers assisting with anything from checking food expiry dates to plating meals for dinner parties, via video calls.
