Coronavirus: People over 70 eligible for booster shots

The health ministry announced that people over 70 would be eligible for a Covid vaccine booster shot starting Friday.

A ministry statement said that people over 70 who have received their second Covid jab at least six months ago would be able to arrange an appointment for a booster shot through the vaccination portal.

The appointments can be arranged for Monday, October 11 onwards.

Eligible individuals can also receive a booster shot at walk-in centres between 8am and 1pm Monday through Thursday.

According to the ministry, so far 17,140 people belonging to eligible groups of the population have received a booster shot.
