Cash, jewellery stolen from Peyia home

Paphos police on Tuesday were investigating after burglars stole €3,800 in cash and jewellery from a house in Peyia.

The burglary was reported to the police at 10.30pm on Monday from a 50-year-old man who said that his villa was broken into while he was away.

Some €800 in cash were stolen during the burglary, a golden ring and a watch amounting to €3,000.

Officers who arrived at the scene did not find any doors or windows had been broken into, while they collected some evidence to help identify the culprits.

The property is equipped with an alarm system which was not activated before the owner left the house.
