Police on Tuesday made a fifth arrest after a burglary, which included the theft of shotguns and an air pistol from a home in Limassol.

The fifth suspect is a 31-year-old man, who was remanded for eight days alongside four other suspects who were arrested in the preceding 24 hours.

According to police, between August 10 and 11, a Limassol house was broken into, from which three shotguns, one Flobert gun and one air pistol were stolen.

A safe which contained several items of jewellery as well as some cash was also stolen, police said.

Following examinations by Limassol CID, evidence linked two men, aged 33 and 38, and two women, 27 and 33, to the case.

Police said they arrested the two female suspects on Monday, while the 33-year-old man was arrested a few minutes after midnight on Tuesday.

A 38-year-old man was also arrested on October 11 and remanded for eight days.
