Girl in a Crisis comes to Nicosia stage

girl in crisis

A one-woman musical-theatrical performance with a live orchestra which made its successful debut in November 2018 in London is coming to Nicosia later this month. The London premiere received rave reviews with West End Star Lorna Want as its lead and now, Andrew Fisher is bringing his English-language comedy as part of the Nicosia International Festival.

Girl in Crisis follows Flick who is in a permanent state of crisis. The unmarried, unemployed actress tries to survive as a waitress by going home in the evenings with her cat, Mrs Fluffington. On the weekends she watches her friends get married one by one. But she will soon be 30. The heroine leads the audience on a musical journey of doubt, anger, insecurity, stubbornness, faith, self-acceptance and purification. Will she manage to win the inner fight against all the: ‘When will you get married?’, ‘Put your life in order?’, ‘Will you manage to fulfil your dreams?’ sort of questions?

Coming to the island for a single performance on November 14 at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre at 5pm, the internationally renowned English creator of the show Andrew Fisher will be part of the performance, accompanying the live orchestra on the piano, leading Flick into a series of adventures and realisations.
