Pedestrian injured in serious traffic accident

Nicosia police on Friday were investigating the causes of a traffic accident that led to the serious injury of a 56-year-old pedestrian.

The accident took place around 7pm on Thursday at the Anthoupolis – Palechori road near Anthoupoli, when, under conditions that are being investigated, a car driven by a 43-year-old woman crashed into a 56-year-old man who was walking on foot.

Officers arrived at the scene for examinations, while the injured man was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital via ambulance.

Doctors diagnosed the man with a head and spine injury and he was kept for further treatment. His condition was described as serious but stable.
