Coronavirus: €4,000 fine for working without SafePass

Cyprus police fined 28 individuals and 15 businesses over the 24 hours until Saturday morning for violating anti-Covid measures.

A total of 2,124 checks were carried out island-wide. The highest fine, €4,000, was handed out to a business manager in Nicosia where an employee was working without a SafePass.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in Nicosia the police carried out 574 checks and fined 15 individuals and 12  managers, while in Limassol they conducted 250 checks and reported five people and one manager.

In Larnaca a total of 454 checks were carried out and five individuals and one manager were reported, while in Paphos the police carried out 122 checks and fined two individuals.

In Famagusta they conducted 340 checks and booked one person and one manager, and in Morphou 198 checks, without reporting anyone.
