Duty-free tobaccos arrest

A 58-year-old Limassol man has been arrested for possessing a large quantity of duty-free tobacco, police said on Saturday.

The man was stopped around 4.30 pm the precious day during a sweep by Limassol police.

A check on his vehicle turned up a large amount of duty-free tobacco products, which were seized as evidence.

These included 120 packs of tobacco, 80 packs of cigarettes and 2.5 kilograms of hookah smoke. The suspect was had €1,805 in cash.

The 58-year-old was arrested and is in custody while customs investigate further.
