Arrest after €20,000 damages to hotel room

A man has been arrested in Limassol for allegedly causing damages to the hotel he was staying in of €20,000.

According to assistant police chief of Paphos Michalis Ioannou, the 37-year-old Greek Cypriot was arrested in Limassol after damages were caused to his hotel suite where he had been staying since March 23.

According to the manager of the hotel, the damage was to the furniture, the walls, electrical appliances and elsewhere, with a total value of €20,000.

The suspect has admitted to causing the damage but disagreed to the value of it.

He was charged and released to appear before court at a later date.
