The construction of a roundabout in Kornos that will offer direct access to the Limassol highway is well underway, Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos said on Monday.

Accompanied by Kornos community leader Michalakis Savvas, Karousos visited the site and confirmed the project is expected to be completed by around July.

The roundabout cost €1.4 million plus VAT. In addition, the overpass leading to the highway will be upgraded and lights will be installed along the road.

Until the project is completed, motorists will have to take alternative roads to gain access to the highway.

“I want to thank the department of public works for the ambitious project, which is expected to be delivered on time,” Karousos said.

He expressed confidence that the safety issues that existed would be resolved hopefully with the completion of the project.
