Nicosians urged to get on their bikes this Sunday

The public has been asked to join the ‘CYcling in the city 2022’ event to promote bikes as a means of transport and exercise.

The event takes place on Sunday, April 10, in Strovolos and runs through to downtown Nicosia, with organisers saying that the public has the chance to send a strong message to the authorities on the importance of cycling.

The head of the House environment committee will join as will the Dutch embassy, along with officials from Strovolos and Nicosia municipalities.

The route begins from Kornelios 18 (behind the Areteon hospital) at 9:30am and lead to the centre of the old city, passing through Makarios Avenue, Famagusta Gate and other key locations in the capital.

Another route for less experienced cyclists will also begin from the same location at 10am.

Those who wish to join the event are asked to sign up at https://bit.ly/38cdO7t and register. Those without a bicycle will also be offered one if they wish to participate.
