Czech parliamentary delegation in visit to Cyprus

A delegation of the European Affairs Committee of the Czech House of Representatives will arrive in Cyprus for a three-day visit on Tuesday, following an invitation by the House of Representatives.

The delegation will be led by the President of the Committee Ondřej Benešík and will be accompanied by the members Marie Pošarová and Martin Exner as well as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Cyprus, Vladimir Němec.

During its stay in Cyprus, the delegation will be received by House President Anita Demetriou and will hold separate meetings with the president and members of the parliamentary committee on foreign and European affairs, Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides and the Interior Minister Nicos Nouris.

Meetings will also be held with the Nicosia Mayor Constantinos Yiorkatzis at the Nicosia Town Hall, the Deputy Mayor of Famagusta Chrysanthos Zanettou and members of the Famagusta Municipal Council at the Cultural Centre of the Municipality in Dherynia.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs will host a banquet in honour of the Czech delegation.

The Czech delegation will also visit the buffer zone in old Nicosia and the area of Dherynia, as well as sites of historical and cultural interest.
