Larnaca municipality slams arson of park play area

park fire

Larnaca municipality on Monday decried the destruction of a children’s play area at the Piraeus park on Friday, saying such actions are to be utterly condemned.

Arsonists set fire to two play towers, destroying them and the rubber safety flooring – drawing the ire of the municipality.

Officials on Monday released pictures of the towers engulfed in flames as firefighters were called in.

The municipality said the park had been a step of progress in improving the area, an effort which was now undermined.

The municipality reiterated their aim of providing green spaces, play areas and recreational zones for the public to enjoy.
