Man arrested after scamming hotel in Limassol

A 48-year-old man has been arrested for scamming a Limassol hotel and leaving €2,770 worth of unpaid bills in March, police said on Friday.

The photo and details of the suspect were published on the police website on May 18.

After being arrested on Thursday, the man was  remanded for one day by the Limassol district court.

According to police, the suspect had called a specific Limassol hotel on March 4 to make a reservation on behalf of a woman, saying he will be paying her accommodation.

The 49-year-old woman arrived at the hotel on the same day, where she stayed until March 16, when she left without paying for her accommodation and the meals she had there.

According to the police, the woman was arrested on April 23.

Following the man’s arrest, the case is expected to be submitted to the Limassol district court on Friday.
