A 33-year-old man is under arrest in connection with a fire which broke out at 10pm on Monday near the village of Dierona in the Limassol district, adjacent to the state forest, the Cyprus News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Firefighters managed to successfully extinguish the blaze when they arrived on the scene, but investigations revealed that the fire was set maliciously.

Police found incriminating evidence against a 33-year-old man, who was eventually arrested at 8pm on Tuesday. He is due to appear in court in the upcoming days.
