A 23-year-old Paphos resident was arrested on Thursday night for threats and illegal possession of a firearm that occurred outside a nightclub in the early hours of Sunday, police said on Friday.

For the same case, a 21-year-old man has already been arrested and is being held in remand.

According to the police, a nightclub worker reported that the suspects were arguing inside the nightclub, with one of those involved threatening him when he threw them out.

Shortly afterwards he heard four gunshots, which have appeared to have come from a car that was parked nearby. They left the scene with their car picking up speed.

The offences being investigated against the 23-year-old are threats, illegal possession and transportation of firearms and explosives, as well as carrying a weapon to incite terror.
