Paphos set to roll out 27,000 smart water meters

The Municipality of Paphos is proceeding with the replacement of existing water clocks with a total of more than 27,000 smart meters.

The replacement is part of the project “Supply, installation, operation and maintenance of an integrated system for smart management and measurement of water resources”.

According to Paphos Mayor Phedonas Phedonos, the use of smart water metres allows for high metering accuracy as well as continuous remote measurement of water

Phaedonos said that the system allows accurate knowledge of water demand and the immediate detection of leaks, leading to great savings and allows the collection of historical consumption data.

“Water, as a valuable and necessary resource for humans, will be managed more properly so that we can receive its beneficial properties over time without fear of its adequacy and quality”, he added.
