ΑΣΘΕΝΟΦΟΡΟ ΟΚΥΠΥ 3

A 15-year-old boy has been critically injured in a traffic accident on the Liopetri-Sotiras road, police said on Sunday.

The accident happened at around 3pm on Saturday when a van driven by a 48-year-old crashed with a moped driven by the teen, under circumstances still under investigation by the police.

As a result of the crash the 15-year-old also hit a second car.

The teenager was taken to Paralimni hospital and because of the seriousness of his injuries was then transferred to Nicosia general hospital where he is in the High Dependency Unit.

An aloctest on the older driver showed a reading of 106µg of alcohol, where the permitted limit is 22.

The teen was not wearing a helmet.

The 48-year-old was arrested.
