Use Bank of Cyprus app to deposit cheques yourself

Bank of Cyprus

As the Bank of Cyprus continues efforts to steer customers away from its branches, it on Monday reminded customers they can deposit a cheque themselves using the bank’s app.

The ‘deposit a cheque’ service on the bank’s mobile app enables the depositing of bank cheques without a charge, swiftly and securely, and without having to visit a branch or an ATM.

This is done by taking a photograph of the cheque, and confirming the relevant data. The amount will be available in an account the next working day, not in two working days as conventionally via the branch.

The maximum deposit amount is €1,000.

Additionally, the cheque can be deposited in the account of the beneficiary or a joint or linked account of another person.

The service is addressed to the bank’s private customers and Bank of Cyprus cheques issued in euros.
