House and vehicle fires at dawn in Limassol

Fires broke out in a house and a car at two different locations in Limassol in the early hours on Tuesday.

The first fire broke out around 1am, in a residence located in the area of ​​Agios Ioannis. At the time of the fire, the 52-year-old resident was absent.

Limassol firefighters rushed to the scene, however, the house suffered extensive damages the financial cost of which is as yet undetermined. 

According to police statement the fire seems to have started inside the house and it is suspected that it was started accidentally.

A few hours later, around 4 am, fire broke out in a car parked outside an apartment building where the owner lives.

The fire caused extensive damages to the vehicle. Police have not yet determined whether arson is involved.

The areas where both fires occurred remain cordoned off and investigations are ongoing.
