Infrastructure issues at Athalassa park will be resolved, forestry department spokesman George Constantinou said on Tuesday after a member of the public complained about poor facilities there.

The complaint, filed with the forestry department on June 30, was over a paved path in the south-eastern part of the park, which had fallen apart.

On July 20, water development department engineer George Oxinos responded that the issue was under the jurisdiction of both his and the forestry department.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency, Constantinou said he had spoken to the forestry department official for Nicosia who confirmed that the two departments had communicated on the issue.

It was decided that new plans will be drawn for the reconstruction of the path and the water development department will then implement them.

Asked when the project is expected to begin, Constantinou said it will happen once the plans are finalised.
