Man in Limassol beaten and robbed by several people

A 26-year-old man was attacked by around ten people at around 2.30am on Wednesday while he was inside his vehicle, outside the church of Ayios Nikolaos, in Limassol. The perpetrators took his wallet and damaged his car.

According to a statement, the man called the police after the attack. He was found injured while still in his car with a friend who, in the meantime, arrived on the scene.

The perpetrators, according to the 26-year-old, stole his wallet containing a total of €200 and caused damage to his vehicle before leaving the scene.

The man was taken by ambulance to the Limassol general hospital, where doctors found out he had a broken nose, a bruise on his right eyebrow and a hematoma on his face. After receiving medical attention, he was discharged.   

The Limassol police department is investigating the case of conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and malicious damage.

The vehicle will also undergo forensic examinations.
