Government Christmas gift for those on low incomes

The government will be giving a Christmas gift to people in need with a grant of over €17 million, the cabinet decided on Wednesday.

Following a meeting, Deputy Social Welfare Minister Anastasia Anthousi announced that the funds for this year’s Christmas present will be €17.1 million.

People eligible to receive the gift will be recipients of a guaranteed minimum income (GMI), low-income pensioners, mothers with more than three children, recipients of other government aid, enclaved people in Rizokarpaso, and low-income single parents that have yearly earnings of up to €19,500.
