Child aged 8 being treated for Strep A

The Makarios hospital

An eight-year-old is being treated at Makarios hospital in Nicosia after she was found to have a Strep A infection.

According to Politis, the girl was taken to the hospital in bad shape on Tuesday and she was diagnosed with Step A.

Doctors gave her medication which helped, however she is still in a difficult condition, though out of danger.

A four-year-old girl that was taken to Israel last week to help her strep A treatment is seeing a slight improvement in her health.

Following a rise in cases across the EU, the health ministry has published advice, while the government said strep tests would be distributed to paediatricians.
