A 33-year-old masked man was arrested stealing from a pharmacy in Ayia Napa early on Tuesday.

Officers arrived at the scene after the alarm sounded at the business around 5am. They found a man, who had his face covered and was carrying an iron crowbar and a shoulder bag, inside the pharmacy.

When he saw the officers, the suspect attempted to flee the scene and resisted his arrest, police said.

Various burglary tools, €80 in cash and several pharmaceutical products were found in his possession.
