The experimental folk-rock band Idaion Project has recently released its first album of the same name and begins a series of live performances to bring it to the ears of listeners. Its first stop is the island’s capital where two live shows will take place in January at a charming venue in Ayioi Omologites.

On Saturday 21 and 28, ARTos House will host Vangelis Gettos, Hugo Enrique Olivos and Alexis Giankoullis who with their laouto, percussions and bass guitars will take audiences on a new musical journey. Their music blends Cretan sounds with Mediterranean melodies and hints of flamenco, funk, progressive rock, stoner and power metal.

The band will present the tracks of its first album, which was recently released on physical (CD) and digital (Youtube, Spotify and Apple Music) formats and in which they collaborated with other renowned artists such as the virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Efrén López from Spain and the master of the Irish bagpipe Loïc Bléjean from Brittany, France.

The live presentation of the songs by the three musicians of the band will be accompanied for the first time by the atmospheric background videos created especially for the band by the graphic artist Stavros Kostidakis. The events on both nights will begin at 8.30pm and have an entrance ticket of €15 which includes a copy of the CD or €10 without it. In February, Idaion Project will take its music to other cities of Cyprus starting with concerts in Limassol.
