Police on Thursday arrested a 26-year-old woman for working illegally at a Paphos hotel.

According to police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou, members of the immigration service went to the hotel to investigate a tip off that a person was working there illegally. The woman was found cleaning rooms.

After establishing her identity, police arrested her and she was taken to the Peyia police station, where her employer was called to report.

The two were accused in writing of illegal work and illegal employment and released pending court summons at a later date.
