Warehouse destroyed by fire

A battery-storage warehouse in Engomi, Nicosia, was destroyed on Sunday night when a fire broke out, police have said.
The fire broke out shortly before 8 pm, destroying the warehouse and the merchandise stored in it.
The fire was put out by firefighters an hour later, but according to spokeswoman Lisa Kemidji, investigation of the cause has not yet been conducted.
“That will most likely be on Tuesday morning,” she told the Cyprus Mail.
Meanwhile, another fire caused damage estimated at €10,000 to a truck owned by a 45-year-old lorry driver.
The fire broke out at 8:50 pm while the truck had been parked in open space at the industrial area of Kokkinotrimithia, Nicosia.
The Fire Service is investigating the causes of the fire.
