Foreign ministry issues travel warning for Egypt

The foreign ministry on Friday advised Cypriots to avoid non-essential travel to Egypt.

If present in the neighbouring country, they are advised to exercise caution and avoid public areas, where mass gatherings occur, the ministry said.

The ministry urged Cypriot citizens to keep themselves informed about developments in Egypt and to follow the authorities’ instructions.

In case of emergency, Cypriots can contact the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Cairo (+201099500541) and/οr the Duty Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on +357 99 660129 (after working hours).
