Weather warning for workers

THE Labour ministry issued a weather advisory on Friday warning workers and others spending time outdoors to take the proper precautions to protect themselves from the high temperatures expected after the weekend.

Panayiotis Lingis, an official from the Meteorological Service, said the average temperature for this time of year is around 38C.

He said the temperatures over the next couple of days would be normal to below average ranging 35-38C.

However they are due to go back up on Monday and Tuesday.

The dust in the atmosphere will have little to no affect on the temperatures over the next few days, but there will be humidity due to low cloud coverage especially in coastal regions, Lingis said.
