Mother of two killed in road accident

A 38-year-old mother of two was killed on Wednesday and her husband was seriously injured in a road accident on the Ayia Napa motorway.

The couple’s two-and-a-half-year-old twin boys sustained light injuries.

Evdokia Panayiotou died after the vehicle, driven by her husband, 43, initially hit the separating barrier and overturned, apparently due to high speed.

The family was returning home to Paralimni from Larnaca.

It was the second fatal road accident in less than 24 hours.

Seventy-six-year-old Eleni Yiasoumi was killed on Tuesday afternoon in the Famagusta district near Vryssoules, after the car driven by her husband collided with another vehicle carrying three passengers.
