Supermarket manager under investigation for sexual harassment

The 61-year-old manager of a supermarket in Larnaca is under investigation for multiple accounts of alleged sexual harassment, a police source told the Cyprus Mail.

The man was arrested on Friday after four women working at the supermarket came forward and gave statements to the police complaining that their manager was sexually harassing them.

According to the police source, the manager sexually harassed almost every woman working for him for the last few months.
They said that the 61-year-old lurked in dark corners of the supermarket and ambushed any of the female employees that happened to pass by. According to the victims, he threatened them that if they reported his behaviour he would have them fired.

The 61-year-old was questioned and subsequently released. He will be called to appear before court once the investigation is completed, where he is expected to be charged with sexual harassment, according to the police source.

The manager allegedly sexually harassed seven women in total but only four came forward and were willing to testify against him, according to police.
