Paphos court

A 25-year-old man was remanded in Paphos on Sunday after being arrested on suspicion of raping a 21-year-old British tourist on Saturday night.

Police are also looking for a second person who allegedly raped the same woman later the same night.

According to the woman’s complaint, she was raped by the 25-year-old in the toilets of a pub in Kato Paphos.

She reportedly told police that she was raped again the same night by another man after drinking too much at a nightclub and falling asleep in the toilet.

According to CNA, she said she and her friends had left the pub around 2am and gone to a nightclub and after a few drinks she had fallen asleep in the toilet. When the club was closed, she said a man came and woke her up and brought her to an apartment where he has sex with her without her consent.

Police are investigating.
