Woman robbed and beaten in Nicosia

A 63-year-old woman reported to police that a hooded man snatched her purse and beat her outside her home in Nicosia on Friday evening.

The woman said she had just parked her car at her home at around 7pm when she was attacked by a man wearing a hood. The robber snatched her bag and hit her before fleeing the scene.

An ambulance rushed the woman to a private hospital where she was admitted with injury to her head and abrasions to various parts of her body.

The purse contained an undisclosed sum of cash, some cheques, and jewellery, the woman told police.
